Optimus Prime, Optimus or Prime for short, is a fictional commander of the heroic Autobots and the main protagonist from the Transformers universes. Called "Convoy" in Japan due to his leading a convoy of vehicles, he has become the most recognizable Transformer of the series.

In the 2007 Transformers film, Optimus Prime was present as the leader of the Autobots. Prime now transforms into a conventional Peterbilt cab, rather than cab over design of his original Generation 1 body. Also straying from the G1 design, Prime's vehicle mode is now decorated with red flames painted onto a blue body (a la Rodimus Prime, his G1 successor).
